The 2020 Corvette owners manual is now available for download:

Looking at the fuse diagram on page 244:
Fuse 7: Power sounder module/Pedestrian friendly alert function
Fuse 12: Lithium ion battery module
The pedestrian alert function is used by EVs to produce a low level sound so pedestrians know the vehicle is near by. It is either a hybrid with an EV mode, or full EV.

Maybe they’ll make a special option called the “Cars and Coffee kit” so that if you spin out after leaving C&C, a noise is emitted and expectators can run away.
Meh, more of a mustang thing I guess.

Does the cor vette use a standard car battery or a lithium unit like is optional on 911's?

I don’t think so. Nothing mentioned in the manual.

Just to be sure. Fuse 34 in the Chevy Bolt EV is labeled the same and is used for its pedestrian alert sound.

Wasn’t it Jalopnik that did a segment about space in the front end for an AWD system? Maybe it’s space for battery/motor components? Maybe E-AWD which seems to be gaining traction with hybrid vehicles.

The huge center tunnel is pretty much empty on the current car. Its assumed a battery will go there.
